Care Tips
Whether you recently purchased a piece from Little Pip Co., or you're just looking for general tips on caring for stained glass you already have... you've come to the right place.
Stained Glass Care
General Cleaning
-
Your stained glass has been cleaned and sealed with a protective wax. Most of the time, a light dusting with a soft cloth will do the trick.
-
Avoid ammonia-based cleaners (like Windex), which can damage solder.
-
For buildup, wash gently with Dawn dish soap and water.
-
Avoid abrasives (like Magic Erasers), especially if your solder is black or copper.
-
If you notice a white buildup that won’t come off with dish soap, reach out — it may be oxidation, and we’re happy to help.
Polishing
-
Over time, solder lines may lose their shine.
-
Twice a year (or as needed), you can polish to restore protection:
-
Use Pledge furniture polish or a carnauba wax–based car wax.
-
Apply with a dedicated cloth, let sit 5–15 minutes, then buff with moderate pressure (focusing on solder lines).
-
Use a cotton swab or toothpick for tight spots.
-
Display
-
Your piece already comes with a sturdy chain attached.
-
Please hang only from secure hooks (never suction cups or Command strips... trust us).
Lead Notice
-
Our stained glass is soldered with a 60/40 tin-lead mix and sealed with wax when finished.
-
For extra precaution:
-
Keep out of reach of children and pets.
-
Don’t lick it...
